Welcome to Foundation Stage
Our Foundation Stage Team for 2017/18 is:
Mrs Hill, Mrs Maguire, Mrs Jones, Mrs Carty, Miss Ashford
In maths we have been learning to count, recognise and write numbers. Next week we are learning about how we use numbers in and around school. For homework this week, could you please encourage your child to look for numbers everywhere! Please send in an example of where your child has found numbers being used; this could be a picture, leaflet, bus timetable, telephone number etc. We will be talking about these and displaying them in the classroom.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Hill and Mrs Maguire
This half-term our topic is 'Marvellous Me and my Family'.
We are really pleased with how well the children have settled into school and it is great to see everyone making new friends. We are going to be continuing to learn routines and build up confidence to talk about our friends and family. Please see our Autumn Curriculum below for more information about what we are learning and how you can support your child's learning at home.
Our new topic is 'Terrific Tales'
We are really pleased with how well the children have settled in and are progressing. Please see our Autumn 2 Curriculum newsletter below for more information about what we are learning and how you can support your child's learning at home.
This half term the whole school took part in our 'everybody writes' activities. We used the wonderful story of Bog Babies by Jeanne Willis to inspire the children to write. In Foundation we made our own Bog babies using salt dough. We all named our bog babies and thought about what they like. We also painted and used 'Splosh' to draw our own pictures of Bog babies.
Spring term 2
We are all busy learning about dinosaurs in foundation please see our attached newsletter for ideas of what your children could learn at home.
Summer term 1
This half term we are learning about different types of transport. We have been thinking about where we would go and how we would get there if we had a 'ticket to anywhere.' Please see our newsletter for more information about our learning.
