Here at Milby, maths is taught using the mastery method for teaching approach.  It involves children working through different stages through the lesson to build up their maths skills in order to support their problem solving.  Mathematical equipment and other manipulatives are used to support children's understanding when working through problems.  Children are encouraged to explain their mathematical thinking and reasoning during maths lessons.
