Summer 2 - Under the Sea

This half term, the children will be learning about our oceans and the creatures which live under the sea. They will explore lifecycles of plants, animals and humans. The children will learn the story of The Snail and the Whale, complete activities relating to the story, as well as creating their own snails using different medias. Through this story children will also consider which places around the world the characters visit, how the seasons change and what changes will take place for them over the next couple of months.

Learning showcase

Children have been exploring 'signs of Spring' and went on a Spring walk to see what they could see.  They found buds on trees, blossom on the trees and flowers beginning to sprout.  They also stood very still and listened to the birds they could hear in the surrounding trees.  To explore how plants grow children have also planted cress and are observing the process of seeds to cress.
